There’s so many words in my head and heart about last weekend….
But most of all I would like to say thank you & I’m sorry. To @warriorscup_3pp , my ride or dies who made the trip up the NYC on their own dime to support and share this experience, to my village back home who tuned in to the PPV, and those who spent weeks helping me prepare. I promised y’all an exciting fight and I would have done anything I could to make it happen. I am extremely disappointed to not even have gotten the chance to deliver, but I am also extremely grateful for the continued opportunity and ability to do something that I love and the never ending support and encourgement from my village. The next ride is sure to wild and until then I’ll keep grindin and dancin 💃🤠😈 thanks for standing by🤘🏽

![On 11/25/21, the day I bought my plane ticket to Tanzania, I made a post with a goal…It had been 2 years since my attempt to summit Island Peak in Nepal fell short, and I was ready to try again, this time on Kilimanjaro in Africa. That post sparked this small conversation with a friend @tqn_training in the comments.
A few of us at @charleston_muay_thai had found Mitch’s training programs during Covid quarantine and with nothing else to do, we got after them. We quickly realized this was one crazy mother fucker and his workouts were not only damn near physically impossible, but mentally brutal. I never cursed out a set of dumbbells more times in my life than that month, but that program changed us as people and as a gym.
After lockdown, myself and @tooletimee trained with Mitch in person at his #MitchSlapped classes (I woke up at 6 am and if you know me, I do NOT wake up early) and he grinded along side us and just the same, it was never not question-your-life-choices hard. He spoke our language. Shut up and do the work.
Out of the blue one night Mitch’s heart went wild, he was hospitalized and nearly died. A few surgeries and a pace maker later, we had this small but significant conversation. Shocking to us all, He sadly never got his chance, as he passed away a short time later.
Exactly one year to the day of that impactful conversation, I stepped foot on the summit of Uhuru Peak, Mt. Kilimanjaro, the goal I set out for on that post. I thought about Mitch a lot over those 9 days. @isysimondet and I had multiple conversations where voices got low and shaky, We had each lost ones that year who had impacted our lives…And then one final time, standing in the dark at 4 am…“For Pat, Flowers, Tristin, and Mitch. Let’s take ‘em up.” You could count the number of sentences we exchanged over those next 6 hours on 2 hands. We were physically with each other, but mentally we spent the day with them. The climb was never not hard, just like his workouts. I wish he was here to see me check this one, and that he got his chance to look death in the eyes on his own accord, but I know he was watching. This one’s for you buddy. Hope I made ya proud. Miss ya dude 🤘🏽](/storage/instagram/amyped//2988941065691955782.jpg)
